From 10 to 12 June 2026, the 23rd Conference of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) was held at the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants in Poznań, Poland. The conference was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Climate and Environment of the Republic of Poland.
In addition to a rich programme of presentations and exhibition stands, participants had the opportunity to tour the Institute’s laboratories and gain detailed insight into its scientific research activities. Alongside other plant species, the Institute places a strong focus on industrial hemp intended for the textile industry.
A particularly impressive part of the programme was the visit to LENKON, an industrial hemp processing facility that has been operating continuously since 1949 and is owned by the Institute. The facility houses the entire production chain under one roof, from raw bales arriving from the fields to finished end products.
This visit once again confirmed the enormous potential of industrial hemp as a resource for a sustainable, circular, and high-value economy.
